Simple Steps For Writing A Book

Step 1

You need to find the time to write your book. If you have a busy schedule, you can still find time to write. Instead of watching the television or listening to music; use that time to jot down ideas for your book and start writing. You should do your brainstorming also. Always carry a small notepad with you everywhere you go so you can write down your ideas. You can even record yourself on a small recorder or leave yourself a voicemail.

Step 2

Write an outline for your book. This can help you stay organized and focused while writing. And always take notes and keep track of them.

Step 3

Put yourself on a schedule. If you have a free day out of the week you need to designate this day for writing your book. Lets say you are off on a Sunday; you need to set yourself 4-6 hours aside for writing your book. If you have some time during the workweek, say 2 hours a day, use that time to write your book and do some possible research.

Step 4

Once you get some of your book written, show it to others and get some input from them. Showing it to others will help you write a better book.

Step 5

Write at least 6 days out of the week; for example Sunday-Friday.

Step 6

Once you write your first draft read it. Do more research and add more valuable information along the way creating your next draft. Try to get your first draft done as fast as possible so you will have something to go by while writing. This will help you think of more ideas to include in your book.

Step 7

Make sure your book will leave an impression on other people’s lives. Make sure your book matters to them. Make sure what you have to say sticks.

Step 8

Writing is an art and should be treated as such. Art is beautiful and your book should be also; especially if your book is about topics such as personal experiences, cooking, losing weight, and other self help such as self esteem, divorce, or relationships.

Step 9

Don’t be afraid to bring out the emotion in others. Make people feel good, make them laugh, make them cry, make them think. If you had an illness and you write about your struggles and how you made it through and got cured, this kind of writing will bring out emotions in people who are experiencing what you went through and they will recommend it to others. You can also write a book on how to cope following a break up in a relationship, separation, or divorce if you went through this to help others. People search for help with sensitive subjects and topics daily.

Step 10

Once you add more ideas complete your next/final draft. Make sure you re-read your book and let someone else read it and ask for an honest opinion from that person. You can also search for writing forums and get advice from others.

Following these steps will help you write a great helpful book to publish on Amazon or anywhere you choose. You want to inspire others to achieve their goals and write an encouraging book.

"Who are you?" This is a question Rachel and I like to ask ourselves and others. We realized that we both like to ask questions, so we created this blog. In our interviews, we ask inspiring people questions about their fields of expertise, their personal philosophies, and their views on society. I hope you learn something about yourself or society at large from reading these interviews.-Tiffany
