Weekend Drawing

method two madness

I forgot it was Draw a Bird day. I will draw one at work today. I still have some time left.

I did another version of the figure in stone. It seemed to need color so I added some.

This was something I started with the edge of a soft pencil. It turned into a horse and then I added the bird. This doesn’t count for Draw a Bird day. I am happy I’ve been drawing in a sketchbook more. And I found the Neocolors that Kerfe gave me for my fortieth birthday. I started playing around with those. They are pretty cool as you can use water to smoosh them around.

Draw a Bird Day: Blue Jay

Blue Jay feathers are not really blue, but appear so because of the way the light reflects off of them.  At least that’s what all the bird websites say…

I am on call for Federal Jury duty the next 2 weeks.  Not sure what it means for getting anything done, but no electronics allowed in Federal Court–including phones–and I have to call every night to see if I need to show up the next day.  I may be around, or not.

The birds have been extra-present around here this spring…I can hear them waking the day right now.  Happy Draw-a-Bird Day!

Rainbow Editing

I haven’t touched my mystery novel in a long time. I wrote the original first draft for NaNoWriMo in November 2013. Since then, it’s changed a lot. I submitted it to my writer’s group and we all mutually agreed that the main character should not have been the POV character.

I rewrote the whole thing.

In 2015, my goal was to have the full manuscript completed by the end of the year. That didn’t happen, so my new goal was the end of the year in 2016.

The last time I worked on the draft was the summer of 2016. I began my edits, got about 60 pages in, and stopped. My “edits” started to be solely searching for typos. I was reading the story, not editing the book. I got frustrated, not knowing where to start and how to continue, so I stopped with every intention of going back…

"Who are you?" This is a question Rachel and I like to ask ourselves and others. We realized that we both like to ask questions, so we created this blog. In our interviews, we ask inspiring people questions about their fields of expertise, their personal philosophies, and their views on society. I hope you learn something about yourself or society at large from reading these interviews.-Tiffany
